Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA), named after I.K. Akhunbaev, is the oldest and one of the most prestigious government medical universities in Kyrgyzstan. Established in 1939 and located in Bishkek, KSMA has trained thousands of doctors serving in many countries. KSMA offers an English-medium MBBS (MD equivalent) program for international students while encouraging the study of Russian for communication during clinical rotations. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical clinical education. The academy has more than 55 academic departments, experienced professors, modern laboratories, simulation-based learning facilities and extensive clinical training through affiliated teaching hospitals. More than 6,000 students, including thousands of international students, study at KSMA.

KSMA offers a balanced medical education through classroom learning, modern laboratories, simulation-based training and extensive clinical exposure under experienced doctors and professors.
